About JD

JD Mercado is an educator, a lifelong learner and educational technology (EdTech) trainer and innovator. He started teaching computer subjects in 2012 and currently the Information Technology Officer at the Department of Education – Division of Mandaluyong City since 2017.

A Google Certified Educator (Level 1 & 2), Google for Education Certified Trainer , Google for Education Certified Innovator, Microsoft Education Ambassador, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Founder of Google Educators Group – Mandaluyong and Microsoft Educators Community – Mandaluyong and has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Education from Philippine Normal University and Complete Academic Requirements for Master of Science in Information Technology from De La Salle University.

JD is a change agent, being able to train teachers on the use of technology in the classroom as well as help schools and districts in the successful integration of available tools to support the teaching and learning environment. His passion to share his knowledge is visible.

In 2016 and 2017, he represented Mandaluyong City in the Google Educators Group (GEG) Summit in Singapore because of his leadership in making GEG Mandaluyong as one of the active community groups in the Asia Pacific. In 2018, he attended the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) in Chicago, USA as a result of being one of the most outstanding GEG leader across the globe.
